Who Wore It Better?

When I got married, it was great for lots of reasons, but one major plus is that my wardrobe greatly expanded!

I wear JP's clothes (mostly sweaters/watches/socks) all the time and it's awesome!

He bought a new sweater in Australia aaaand I sort of love it, so I've snuck it out of his closet and worn it a couple times :)

A Shopping Fast

At the start of this year, I made the decision to go on a shopping fast for 5 months!

You see, I have a bit of an online shopping problem... I sit in my classes and check my email, and my inbox is full of emails from Anthropologie is telling me "Sale ends in 24 hours!" and JCrew informing me about "Free Shipping Today Only!"

And they suck me in! Every single time.  

I'm a total bargain shopper -- I can't remember the last time I paid full price for something, but the problem lies in how much of those sale items I end up purchasing...

So at the beginning of this year, I decided I wanted to be a little more responsible in the financial department (not to mention pay better attention in class haha) and I banned myself from not only online shopping, but in-store shopping as well! 

The ban is in place until May 30, which is the day I take the MCAT (the admissions test required to apply to medical schools! aah!)

I unsubscribed from all my favorite stores' email newsletters (you know, removing the temptation) and I am pleased to announce that I am still going strong! At first it was hard to not buy some patterned tights  I really wanted... or a new scarf that was WAY CUTE but I really didn't need it... 

That's what I'm finding through out this whole thing -- how much I don't actually "need."

 I usually justify buying something I want by convincing myself that "I don't have anything else like it!" or "I will wear this ALL THE TIME."

So give it a try! 

I feel pretty empowered that I can actually be responsible with the money I earn, not to mention my bank account is looking better and better haha. 

A Farewell Breakfast

My girl Jordan left on her mission this week. 

The people of Independence Missouri have no idea how lucky they are, and they best take good care of her. 

Before she left, we had a last little breakfast club meeting with the 6 of us that have been friends since high school to give her a proper send off, and thanks to Marley's we polished off blueberry pancakes and Provo's best cinnamon rolls while we enjoyed Jordan's company for the last time in 18 months! 

Pizza & Pazookies for Valentines Day!

For the third year in a row, JP and I put together a Valentine's make-your-own-heart-shaped-pizza date!

With 9 couples and enough pizza sauce to feed an army, the night was hilarious and loud and full of some of my favorite people. 

I let JP take the reins on our pizza and not surprisingly we ended up with an 8-cheese, 6-meat experiment that almost had me going vegetarian after one piece haha. 

Not to mention, us girls convinced the guys to take us to see "Safe Haven" at the end of the night... Happy Valentines Day to us! haha

Valentines Highlights + the giveaway winner!

>>>> after a long, long, loooong day on campus (8 AM to 9 PM, my goodness!) JP announced that we had dinner 

reservations up in Park City! Yayy!! 

Forget the mountains of homework, it was valentines day!

>>>> aaaand we might have been driving a little too fast and maybe got pulled over by a highway patrolman. 

These types of things are funny stories down the road right?

I just can't believe that this is the

 second Valentine's Day we're celebrating as a married couple! 

It's like we're old now or something.
