A Spontaneous Walk

Mr JP and I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather yesterday and went on a little walk around our neighborhood.
I love going on walks with him -- before we started dating (a looong time ago) that used to be our excuse to hang out... we'd go on walks together and talk-- about school, about who he was dating, who I was dating, about the gospel, etc.
I suppose walks were sort of the start of our friendship -- that, and really competitive tennis matches against each other. :)

Patterned dresses + tights

 My lucky Euro

Simultaneously the best and worst decision I've made in the recent past.

Gwenna girl. (the niece I inherited upon marrying Mr JP. I know, she's the cutest)

An Engagment Party for Five!

Well one more has been added to the numbers since then and to celebrate, my friend Jordan and I threw a quint-engagement brunch extravaganza for the whole lot of them!

There was baked french toast, a scrambled egg casserole, and a greek yogurt parfait bar; along with a match-the-fact-to-the-engaged-girl game, and lots of chatting and catching up!
It was so nice to see everyone and I cannot wait for all the weddings!

Off Sugar

Mr JP and I have decided to go on a sugar-fast.
Yep that means no more shake runs or dropping by rocky mountain chocolate factory. We even threw away the rest of a very delicious cake and locked up the cadbury chocolate eggs I just purchased.

We are very serious about this.

And then of course, this morning at work, someone brought homemade golden oreos AND one of our patients brought us donuts.
It's like the universe is working against me... but I didn't cave!

I amazed even myself with that shocking display of self control... but the consequences Mr JP and I decided on are pretty good motivation:

- If I cave first and eat a treat, I have to watch a whole basketball game with Jean Paul without my phone or laptop to entertain me...

- And if he caves first, then he has to tickle my back for a whole hour...

So, may the best man(woman) win!

My other motivation? (aside from the health benefits)
I want to purchase one of these in the near future:

A Murder Mystery:

This past weekend, Mr JP and I got to play parts in a murder mystery date!
The murder took place in Chicago so there was deep-dish pizza for dinner, 1920's music, and the best part- Chicago accents! (which I was really good at, I'll have you know... haha...)
Each person was assigned a character and you had to dress up and act the part.

It was hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard in a while!
Thanks Molly Jane for planning the whole thing :)

Mid-Week Date Night

On Thursday I managed to tear Mr. JP away from the TV for approximately 45 minutes (March Madness might be the end of me...) and we went on a little date to the Malt Shoppe!

I got an Orange Creamsickle shake and
he originally claimed he didn't want one, and then somehow ended up with a butterscotch-cookie dough

We were entertained by observing and commenting on the un-proportionally high amount of awkward first dates occurring around us, which was quite hilarious, and it made me think about our first date (which took place at iHop, in case you were wondering) but I don't think we were quite as awkward as some of the interactions we witnessed at the Malt Shoppe...
:)
Happy Weekend!

Dancing the Night Away

This past weekend I finally had a wedding to attend!
You remember how much Jean Paul and I love weddings?
Well my friend Sarah (who I went on study abroad with to London) got married on Saturday! She was an absolutely beautiful bride and the reception was fabulous.
It also doubled as a pseudo-reunion, which I loved because it had definitely been far too long since I had seen some of my London family!

One downside to being married? I don't get to participate in the bouquet toss anymore... It really used to be my favorite part of weddings. But I guess getting married is worth giving it up ;) haha.

 The "significant others club"
They were good sports while all the girls danced and got caught up on each others lives... for 2.5 hours...

The sparkler send-off was awesome - probably because they had the BIGGEST sparklers I have ever seen. These things were like torches.
