LONDONTOWN

We made it to London!!!

We chunnelled from Paris right into King's Cross Station (hello platform 9 3/4!) and made our way to our hotel before going out to eat at Nando's and stopping by the BYU London Centre! (be still my heart)

For the last two days we've been running ourselves ragged trying to see all of my old favorite spots!

St. Paul's, Borough Market, Primark, Picadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Fortnum & Mason, Harrod's, Portobello Road, etc etc. 

I think my favorite moment so far was walking through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens with JP after dinner until the sun went down! I have walked through those magical parks so many times and it was a dream being able to stroll through them with JP!

We also visited Jermyn Street and Savile Row -- both requested by JP. Apparently those are world-renowned streets for mens (and some women's) dress-wear, who knew?! 

The stores we explored were incredible though, we went into one called Huntsman and the cutest little (impeccably dressed) old salesman started telling me how Ronald Reagan, Katherine Hepburn, Winston Churchill and the like all used to come get their shirts, blazers, and suits made there. And then he showed me Clark Gable's signature in their sign-in book and Katherine Hepburn's actual patterns! I loved it. 

London is still my favorite place in the world, hands down.

We leave tonight and have a layover in Ireland (a 10 hour layover... ha ha ha. We're spending the night in the Dublin Airport. For real.) And then we're off to Washington DC!

Apparently, We're Going to France:

So this is actually happening. 

We just finalized our summer plans and JP and I are going to Europe this summer!

He got into a study abroad in Paris and after weighing all the factors, figuring out some details, and readjusting life plans a little, we are going to be spending our summer in France!

We'll be stopping in different places all along the way too, starting off in Dublin, then visting Eric and Kimmi in Vienna, then we're driving (yep, driving) from Vienna to Paris, stopping in Munich and Zurich along the way!

After JP's program is over, we'll be making my dreams come true and stopping by my favorite place on this planet - London- before we come back to the states in August by way of Washington DC and NYC so JP can interview at some law firms for internships!

I can't wait. We leave 2 weeks after I take the MCAT and honestly, I can't imagine anything better after all these months of studying for 10+ hours a day. 

So bring it on Europe! :)

A Wedding and A Reunion

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending my friend Jen's wedding reception!

Her dress was gorgeous -- I have never seen lace like that!

I loved her reception too. First of all, it was at the Zion's Bank Tower in Salt Lake City and the view up on the top floor there is unbelievable, and second of all, she had this fabulous pasta bar where you could build your own pasta dish, which I have never seen at a reception before, and it's not often I see something I haven't seen before... I thought it was such a good idea! 

She's a gem. I just love her. 

 

After the reception I convinced Mr JP to run over to City Creek for a couple minutes (haha) so I could check out the new Anthropologie store location! Which didn't disappoint, I am pleased to report. 

And THEN (we were all over the place that night) my London study abroad group had a reunion that I LOVED!! We reminisced about memories including this, this, this, and this, while the husbands were good sports and indulged us/took pictures for us for over two hours! 

And we missed everyone who couldn't make it! I love these people, I feel like we will always have a bond with one another, they're each really amazing individuals and I feel lucky to know them!

The best professor in the world right there!

California Lovin'

This weekend, Mr JP and I drove to California for my friend Jenna's wedding!

I met Jenna on my study abroad in London :)  

She married her now-husband Mike and believe me, its been a long road for those two haha but they were SO HAPPY, you could see it on their faces all night. The whole reception was amazing, and I got to catch up with some of my favorite people too!

Definitely worth the trip.

... and now we are enjoying some time in San Francisco with friends we don't get to see very often!

A London Wedding:

Yesterday, my dear friend that I met on my London study abroad got married!!

She married her high school sweetheart and they might be one of the most good-looking couples I have ever seen!

Both Morgan (the bride) and her sister Mckenzie were on the study abroad and I am SO grateful that we're still friends! I just love them so. They're hilarious and stunningly beautiful too, so what's not to like?

A Wedding for Dinner & Sweet Tooth Fairy for Dessert:

This past Friday one of my London girls Devri got married! She was a beautiful bride and the wedding was at the Grand America Hotel, which, let me tell you, is fabulously fancy and made me feel a little bit like I was at a swanky party from Mad Men... (told you I was obsessed). 

There was food and dancing to a live band and I finally got to catch up with Molly Jane which I had been dying to do forever! 

And what better way to finish the night off than with a cupcake from Sweet Tooth Fairy? Try the Creme Brulee. It's hands-down my new favorite. :)

Sidenote: This Spring semester I've become frightfully good at putting off homework and studying, so much so that tomorrow I am pretty sure I have 7 hours of schoolwork to do before Monday morning, so I have that to look forward to haha.

Dancing the Night Away

This past weekend I finally had a wedding to attend!

You remember how much Jean Paul and I love weddings?

Well my friend Sarah (who I went on study abroad with to London) got married on Saturday! She was an absolutely beautiful bride and the reception was fabulous. 

It also doubled as a pseudo-reunion, which I loved because it had definitely been far too long since I had seen some of my London family!

One downside to being married? I don't get to participate in the bouquet toss anymore... It really used to be my favorite part of weddings. But I guess getting married is worth giving it up ;) haha.

They were good sports while all the girls danced and got caught up on each others lives... for 2.5 hours...

The sparkler send-off was awesome - probably because they had the BIGGEST sparklers I have ever seen. These things were like torches.
