A Day at the Pool

What do you do when your fiancée ditches you and has to go to Vernal for work for three days??
Go to the pool, of course!

It was so fun, a bunch of my cousins are in town and it was lovely being able to lounge at the pool with them after running around and doing wedding stuff all morning!
(by the way, wedding planning is coming along splendidly, the reception is going to be fantastic!)

You might notice that I am still reading "Bossypants," and yes it has been my "currently book" for over a month, but when you decide to plan a wedding in 7 weeks, things like reading for fun take a backseat.
But seriously it's one of the funniest books I've ever read, I would recommend it to anyone. Tina Fey is classic.

It All Ends

Last night I went to Harry Potter 7 part 2 at midnight. It was incredible  but so bittersweet! The Harry Potter era has officially come to an end. I remember when my dad came home with the very first book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and read it to me and my siblings because we were too young to read it by ourselves. I remember countless midnight premiers of the books and the movies - such as when I left EFY early to go to Borders at midnight when the seventh book came out. My favorite memory of all, is of course when I got to attend the world premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 in London.  This year as I watched the London premier live on the internet, J.K. Rowling summed up my feelings perfectly:

”The stories we love best do live in us forever.
So whether you come back by page or by the big screen,
Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

Wedding 25 and 26

So remember like two weeks ago when I went to 3 weddings in one weekend? Well the last one I went to was for Bethany! She's been one of my best friends for the last six years and Jean Paul actually introduced her and her husband!
Her wedding was so much fun we stayed at the reception for over an hour after it was supposed to end, chatting and laughing and dancing.

Me and Beth!

Waiting for everyone to take pictures... they were really excited about it.

 Us with the groom!

All the girls attempting to pick Beth up...

We eventually succeeded photo via her photographer Laura

Yes, I caught the bouquet haha. Then less than a week later Jean Paul proposed!
So I guess the saying is true...

Wedding 26 was for my good friend Sadie.
We were in the same ward our freshman year and she was one of the most stunning brides I've ever seen!
I just love her and am so so happy for her and her husband.

This is me and Jean at the wedding... I didn't manage to get a picture of me and Sadie.. blogging fail haha.

Wedding Planning

I have been engaged for exactly 10 days and it has probably been the most efficient 10 days of my life.

Drum roll please...

We have:

  • booked a reception place
  • found a photographer
  • booked the temple
  • I found a dress! (sigh of relief)
  • own tons of free furniture (courtesy of my dad's office moving)
  • bought the bridesmaid dresses
  • ordered the invitations
  • booked the honeymoon
  • opened our first gift
How awesome is that?!

Tonight we are taking engagements, deciding on a place to have the rehearsal dinner, and booking a florist. Wish me luck! :)

America the Beautiful

Oh say can you see by the dawn's early light.

Literally.

Every year my ward does this fantastic Fourth of July program at our neighborhood park at
7 AM
And the Young Women do a bake sale of donated goods to raise money for their girls camp.

So this year I decided to contribute an American flag made of cupcakes.
It was epic.

 Sooo early

Jean took some creative liberties with the candy designs on the red ones... we had such creations as: a smily face made of licorice, a star of David, a fish in the ocean, and something he called "modern art". His talent never ceases to amaze me ;)

Favorite Summer Color

I have started noticing a trend.
Apparently, I love the color coral.
And all its various shades.
