Housekeeping

So you know that scene about halfway through
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" where Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett move into their new apartment that is completely empty of any furniture or anything?

I'm beginning to feel like that a little bit.

Okay not exactly, because besides from being much less glamorous we do have the luxury of a bed and kitchen table! Hooray! And last night we were this close to having a couch, until it wouldn't fit down the stairs to our little basement apartment. And trust me, we tried. (by we, I mean my husband, two brother in laws, and my dad.)

And for a while there we didn't have any silverware which was a bit of an adventure (see below)

But I am happy to report that things are coming together quite nicely and you can see the floor again in our living room because my mom and I organized and put everything away in my kitchen.
(The husband was going to lose it if I had left everything out for another day... haha)

Guess what though!

Today is the 1 year anniversary of when I landed in London town.
Isn't it crazy how fast time flies?

Sorry this is the most random blog post ever... It's a bit late and I've only gotten 4 hours of sleep each night this week.. Welcome back to school :)

Welcome Home

We are FINALLY home!
After traveling for 12 hours what is usually the first thing you want to do?
SHOWER. I was so so excited to get in the shower and feel clean again.

Oh wait, we don't have a shower curtain.

"No problem," I thought, "I'll just be really careful and not get water anywhere..."

Cue flooding of the bathroom.

So then I decided a bathtub was the way to go. Except that I have a freakish amount of hair on my head and our bathtub is a little bit too small.

I'll stop with the description there but yes, it was as cramped and awkward as you're imagining.

And where was my knight in shining armor during this traumatic event you may ask?
He was napping

Anyways,
We also have no furniture, which is kind of hilarious.
And I don't really care at all right now because look what we came home to:

I LOVE WEDDING PRESENTS!
One of Jean Paul's groomsmen stacked them all up while we were gone and it was so well done I had to document it haha. (Thanks Cody)

We've been unwrapping for two hours and the end is nowhere in sight.

People are so nice-- Jean Paul and I literally didn't have a single thing when we moved in and with each plate and cup and appliance I unwrap I just want to do a little dance :)

Just a Few Things...

Hello there!

I wasn't going to post until I got home, but Jean Paul is asleep and I just drank a diet Dr. Pepper so it would seem I have some free time on my hands (okay lets be honest, I've had nothing but free time this whole week but you know what I mean).

I feel like I haven't been the best blogger, but I guess planning a wedding in 7 weeks (still can't believe we pulled that off...) is a pretty good excuse.

I'm not really excited at all to return to the real world (I checked my email today for the first time all week and had emails from my professors... ohhh noooo...) but I am really excited to share a few things on this little blog of mine

Some of them include:

- my bridals (seriously SO excited to post these, I had a marvelous photographer and am so happy with them)
- the resolution to the coke bottle dilemma (thank you so much for all your input!)
- wedding pictures (as soon as I get them... I'm dying to see them!)
- no honeymoon pictures.  I have always had a weird thing against posting honeymoon pictures... so I won't.

Also, I just wanted to say thank you
Thank you for all your love and support leading up to my wedding, and thank you for reading!
It means the world to me :)

and here's a little preview:

Goodbye Miss Collins...

The morning of my wedding was a little bit surreal.
It hadn't really hit me yet that in a few short hours, I would actually be married
I had stayed up late with some of my best friends chatting and freaking out and looking at my bridals again haha but I didn't have trouble sleeping the night before (I can't remember a night I couldn't fall asleep haha).

However I woke up early and was w i d e awake.

I got up out of my bed for the last time, showered for the last time in my shower, blow dried my hair, and went with my mom to get our makeup done.
(just for the record, I LOVE my makeup lady. She is unreal.)

I came home and curled my hair, then my two friends/turned bridesmaids/turned hairstylists came over and got me all put together.

Then I put on my Sunday clothes to go to the temple, loaded up my wedding dress, hugged everyone goodbye for the last time as Grace Collins, and walked out the door.

Crazy.

A Honeymoon Worthy Post

So yes, I am on my honeymoon.

And I had my blog posts all pre-written and set up to post on their own but then something happened worthy of a post even while I'm on my honeymoon... my former-best-friend-turned-sister-in-law got ENGAGED last night!

Congratulations Shayla and Nic!!

I don't claim photo cred.. got it off her facebook haha

I just couldn't be happier for you :)

Rehearsal Dinner

The night before my wedding we had the rehearsal dinner.
It was up in Midway, UT and we were surrounded our family and friends.
The food was amazing and the whole night was perfect.
There was a fabulous slideshow that my now sister-in-law Shayla put together,
there were toasts by the bridesmaids and groomsmen
and of course both of our parents.
I cried, and laughed, and laughed while I was crying.
In my opinion, it was the best rehearsal dinner ever.

Bridesmaid Sleepover and Brunch Extravaganza

There are few things better in this world than:
  • sleepovers with your BFF's
  • painting fingernails and re-painting nails that get ruined when you have to leap away from a spider
  • looking through bridal pictures while Katy Perry plays in the background (they are AWESOME by the way)
  • talking and talking and not realizing it's 4 AM already
  • eating a delicious brunch put together by my tireless mother (she is a saint and a miracle worker, literally)
However, want to know one thing better than all this? Getting to marry my absolute favorite person in the entire world in exactly 24 hours.

The Sleepover:

The Brunch:

Haha look familiar?

Bachelorette Party

We had a tea party!
It was possibly the cutest party I've ever been to. And I mean that.

My lovely bridesmaids threw it for me and they went all out: tea cups, garden hats, homemade scones,  cleverly-designed cookies, the works.

Between the presents and games I seriously haven't laughed that hard in a while...

The umm.. decorations... haha

Roommates 4 lyfe.

And one more thing... I get married in 2 DAYS!
