Sunday Snapshots

This past Sunday...

I tallied up the books I want to read and the few I need to finish... I got really excited and then a little depressed when I realized there is no chance of these getting read until after April 19...

What?! You mean I don't have to step on a mound of clothes to get into bed now??
This afternoon I launched a much needed hang-up-all-my-clothes project... and it was quite successful! {see below}

 Another result of that project was the re-discovery of my lipstick collection... {woohoo!}

We also indulged in AMC's "Crazy about Schwayze" marathon... Judge us, it's fine.

There was a lot of procrastinated studying to be caught up on...

And we had to end the night with a 12:01 Mcdonald's run, right?

You know the motto...

Want to know my current favorite thing about Mr JP?
(I do try to refrain from these kind of posts... but this is just too good)

Whenever I ask him to do something particularly un-fun or time-consuming or inconvenient (you know, like load the dishwasher or go outside in the freezing cold to get my schoolbooks out of my car)
he pauses for a second, gets this look on his face, kisses me on the forehead, and says:
"you know the motto, anything for the wifey."

Haha! That's me. I'm the wifey.
And just like that, I realize I don't have any reason to complain about anything, ever.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Birthday Gram!

Growing up, I had the privilege of living next to one of my Grandma's!
We call her Gram, (and by "we" I mean just about anyone who's met her, she makes everyone feel so comfortable around her, you can't help but call her Gram! In fact, she is "Gram" to about 25 college students at this point...)

Anyways, she had a birthday this week! Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the birthday dinner at Brick Oven (stupid physics lab...) but luckily later that night we had a fabulous cake+ice cream party.

Happy 50th Birthday Gram! ;)

Sundance Film Festival

Jean Paul and I have gone to the Sundance Film Festival for a few years now, and I seriously look forward to it every year. This year it was a blizzard! Which made the drive up slightly dangerous and waiting in line freezing cold. But after eating dinner at our favorite bagel shop in Park City and purchasing some Creme Brulee Hot Chocolate we were good to go haha.

One of the reasons I love going to the film festival is because of the people up there. We've met people from all over the United States!  They come to Park City specifically for the festival and it is so interesting talking to them about which celebrities they've seen, where they've eaten, what movies they've liked, etc.

Yesterday we spoke with a couple who had seen Dustin Hoffman, Tinie Tempah, and Harvey Weinstein at their hotel that morning, and then later we were sitting next to a group of girls who won backstage passes to meet Drake! c  r  a  z  y.

Seeing the movies at the festival is incredible because since it is the world premier of the film, the director is there, along with the writers, actors, etc. And they sit in the theater and watch the film with the audience and answer questions after. I love it.
This year we got tickets to see "Lay the Favorite" which was a really outstanding film.
Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall, Catherine Zeta Jones, Vince Vaughn, and Joshua Jackson all starred in the film, and you can read a synopsis of it here
We loved it! Definitely the best we've seen out of all the years we've gone.

So blurry... My apologies.

Guy on the far left? That's Bruce Willis!

Bruce is the guy with no hair+ the scarf + white shirt

5 Whole Months

Guess who's been married for 5 months?!
That's right, we have.
And what better way to celebrate the occasion than with a meatloaf made by yours truly and some flowers from Mr. JP?

On Martin Luther King Day...

... we went for a hike

got temporarily lost in the wilderness

Jean Paul scaled a mountain

we found some huge caves

and took a band picture (?)

we played Uno and lots of Banagrams

made a delicious Sunday dinner

the girls watched the Golden Globe awards while the boys watched football

and pretty much constantly ate treats.

Some friends went with Jean Paul and I down to St. George over the long weekend for the third year in a row! It's one of my very favorite traditions and this year was fabulous.

The Best Breakfast in Utah

Hello from St George!
I hope your Martin Luther King Jr weekend has been as lovely as mine!
A mini-vacation down south was exactly what I needed after a grueling first two weeks of school (haha)

a link list

I've seen this on other blogs but I've never tried it before...

However a combination of having not done ANYTHING worth blogging about this week (I really don't think you want to hear about my job... or my genetics class... or the continuing spectacle of me helping in a research lab...)

SO I've decided to leave you with a little link list and a promise that I really am ending this blogging drought of mine- so thanks for reading and bearing with me!

This is my current favorite website to browse through... Just really lovely, inspired pictures.

I'm still on the fence about this new cover I recently heard...

I think this woman is quite funny and enjoy reading her blog quite a bit...

Husband and I watched this little video last night and absolutely LOVED it...

I would like this, and this, and this, thank you very much.

Happy Wednesday!
We have some big plans for this weekend and I just can't wait! What are you doing for the long weekend?

It's been a while since I posted a wedding photo... and I just love this guy so much!

Lipstick.

I've received a few questions lately about what kind of lipstick I wear, so here are some of my favorites!

The Mean Reds:

MAC Ruby Woo (a classic)
*possibly the best matte red color ever created*

Maybelline's Coral Crush
*the title is misleading. I love this color because it goes on as a lighter, less intense red*

My Go-To:

MAC Vegas Volt
*I looooove this color. It's the perfect shade of bright coral and literally matches every outfit*

Midnight Madness:
These are for my darker, more suave look haha.

Maybelline's Plum Perfect

Lancome's All Done Up

And I just love this quote, (if you'll excuse the language):

[Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin.
That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.]
-Gwyneth Paltrow-
