a link list

I've seen this on other blogs but I've never tried it before...

However a combination of having not done ANYTHING worth blogging about this week (I really don't think you want to hear about my job... or my genetics class... or the continuing spectacle of me helping in a research lab...)

SO I've decided to leave you with a little link list and a promise that I really am ending this blogging drought of mine- so thanks for reading and bearing with me!

This is my current favorite website to browse through... Just really lovely, inspired pictures.

I'm still on the fence about this new cover I recently heard...

I think this woman is quite funny and enjoy reading her blog quite a bit...

Husband and I watched this little video last night and absolutely LOVED it...

I would like this, and this, and this, thank you very much.

Happy Wednesday!
We have some big plans for this weekend and I just can't wait! What are you doing for the long weekend?

It's been a while since I posted a wedding photo... and I just love this guy so much!

Happy 3 Months Darling

“Millions and millions of years would still not give me
half enough time to describe that tiny instant of all eternity when you put your arms around me
and I put my arms around you.”

Black and White is the New Technicolor

Somedays, I just want to stop. Stop studying, stop going to class, stop planning, stop moving.

Today, for example, I woke up at 6:45 AM, worked until noon, had class until 6:00 PM and didn't leave campus until 9:30 PM.

And while I was driving home I was thinking about the two quizzes that were due before midnight, the 36 pages of reading assigned for tomorrow, and the fact that I haven't done laundry since I've been home from Hawaii.

But then my day turned around the second I walked in the door because my husband had a full dinner waiting (that is supposed to be my job, but some days it just can't happen)  and just grabbed and hugged me for about 4 minutes.

It was the best. thing. ever.

And it made me step back and realize how easily I let trivial things completely overwhelm me.

So, here's to moving forward! And with much more peace than I was feeling a few hours ago.

"Later she remembered all the hours of the afternoon as happy-one of those uneventful times that seem at the moment only a link between past and future pleasure, but turn out to have been the pleasure itself."

-F. Scott Fitzgerald (Tender is the Night)-

These pictures make me happy, which is why they are included with this post.

Embracing the New

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure to embrace the new.

But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.

There is more security in the adventurous and exciting
for in movement there is life and in change there is power.

Bridals + the Groom = Groomals

Before we were wed, Jean Paul and I decided to take pictures together. Me, in my dress. Him, in his tux.

At first I was very much against it, because it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride's dress before the wedding day--but the more I thought about it and talked to former brides, I came to the conclusion that for the sake of good lighting and weather, we would take pictures before the wedding.

So, without further ado, here is the epic unveiling (haha) I mentioned in this post, when Jean Paul saw me for the first time in my dress:
