A Murder Mystery:

This past weekend, Mr JP and I got to play parts in a murder mystery date!
The murder took place in Chicago so there was deep-dish pizza for dinner, 1920's music, and the best part- Chicago accents! (which I was really good at, I'll have you know... haha...)
Each person was assigned a character and you had to dress up and act the part.

It was hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard in a while!
Thanks Molly Jane for planning the whole thing :)

Mid-Week Date Night

On Thursday I managed to tear Mr. JP away from the TV for approximately 45 minutes (March Madness might be the end of me...) and we went on a little date to the Malt Shoppe!

I got an Orange Creamsickle shake and
he originally claimed he didn't want one, and then somehow ended up with a butterscotch-cookie dough

We were entertained by observing and commenting on the un-proportionally high amount of awkward first dates occurring around us, which was quite hilarious, and it made me think about our first date (which took place at iHop, in case you were wondering) but I don't think we were quite as awkward as some of the interactions we witnessed at the Malt Shoppe...
:)
Happy Weekend!

Dancing the Night Away

This past weekend I finally had a wedding to attend!
You remember how much Jean Paul and I love weddings?
Well my friend Sarah (who I went on study abroad with to London) got married on Saturday! She was an absolutely beautiful bride and the reception was fabulous.
It also doubled as a pseudo-reunion, which I loved because it had definitely been far too long since I had seen some of my London family!

One downside to being married? I don't get to participate in the bouquet toss anymore... It really used to be my favorite part of weddings. But I guess getting married is worth giving it up ;) haha.

 The "significant others club"
They were good sports while all the girls danced and got caught up on each others lives... for 2.5 hours...

The sparkler send-off was awesome - probably because they had the BIGGEST sparklers I have ever seen. These things were like torches.

A Little Treat

Mr. JP is turning 26 next week... and you know what that means - the government is kicking him off his parents insurance.
ha! just kidding.

It actually means that I get spoiled too because his parents took the family out to dinner to celebrate, and guess who's part of the family now? Me!
I am still getting used to that, even if it has been almost 7 months.

We've both been trying to cut back a bit when it comes to desserts (we were getting a little out of control there for a few weeks) but since we were celebrating Mr. JP's birthday, we decided a little after-dinner-treat was absolutely necessary.
So we made a detour on the way home.
And to tell you the truth, I don't regret it one little bit :)

If you look real close, you can have the privilege of seeing Mr. JP's mustache...
which I *love so much and hope it stays there forever.

replace with:  *really despise and might have to resort to shaving it off myself.

It's one of those weeks:

This is one of those lucky-if-you-get-five-hours-of-sleep-a-night week.

Or one of those can't-find-time-to-shower-or-eat-real-meals week.

Which consequently makes Jean Paul's week into a why-did-I-marry-her kind of week...
haha just kidding. Kind of. Poor guy.

However, there are a few bright spots in my day that help me keep my sanity!

The first one being my two new necklaces (thank you very much F21 sale) and my new nail polish that definitely wasn't on sale but was soo worth it because it's been on my nails for a whole 48 hours and still hasn't chipped!

My lovely yellow spider-mums that I purchased because it's been so lovely and warm I couldn't help bring some Spring into our apartment.

Braids + Bows.
It's kind of turned into my go-to when I don't have time to do my hair properly. And lets be honest, even when I do have time my hair usually gets put up.

My sister showed me this song a few weeks ago and I'm just a little bit obsessed with it.

And what better way to put a busy week in perspective than by starting to get involved in a movement like this
Suddenly my problems start seeming much, much smaller.

What Have YOU Been Doing for the Last 12 Hours?

Mr. JP has been sick for the past few days and wanted to go to bed early last night.
So I went to my friend Jordan's house and spent the rest of the night drinking diet coke and watching the entire first season of Downton Abbey
Don't be too impressed.

It's unbelievably good. Even better than I was expecting, and my expectations were pretty high.
