Flashback Friday?

Guys, I was totally missing Europe this week!

I think that with the changing of the seasons I just start to feel nostalgic, which then transitions to me looking through all the pictures I took this summer, and then to me browsing the internet looking at places to stay in Seychelles and/or Santorini, Greece?
^^^Top destinations on the bucket list right there^^^

Anyways, I think I've posted this quote on here before, but I have to post it again because it's so true! I just love it:

"Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change

that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas

of living."

A Heartbreaker of a Game:

So I'm not the most hard-core football fan out there.
In fact, if I go to a game I mostly go for the social aspect/the food.

BUT this weekend BYU had a game that was an exception!
We played our rivals - the University of Utah! And you better believe I knew what was going on for more than 50% of that game! Baby steps.

Now, I'm not going to get into the details of the rivalry that's been around since the beginning of time, but basically BYU hates Utah, and vice versa. It's a big emotionally-charged game every year and it always blows up my twitter feed the week (month) before the game with all this talk of who's team is better, why Utah fans are the worst, why BYU fans are even MORE the worst, etc.
You know, real important classy banter haha.

But the game! oh the game! It was a heartbreaker.
It was a low-scoring one where you had hope up until the last minute just to have it crushed.
(BYU lost)

But it was still so much fun, and I still love my cougars. AND it was really great because it was a "throwback" game which meant everyone wore royal blue and the football team even had royal blue jerseys!
You know how I'm a sucker for themed events ;)

A Little Party Never Hurt Nobody:

So, last Saturday, Provo got this crazy micro-storm that postponed the BYU football game for two hours, blew over trees, knocked out the power, and basically wreaked havoc on our little town.
There were weather warnings all over the TV saying "stay inside, on the ground level, away from windows, and postpone travel"

So what did JP and I do?
Jumped in the car in some fancy clothes and headed up into the mountains to go to a wedding!

*spoiler alert*
we didn't die

It was Alex and David's wedding! (Remember her bridal shower?)
So obviously a little pseudo-tornado was not going to deter us from attending haha and I'm happy to report that the weather cleared up and we had  a fantastic night at their reception!

There was a little bar making virgin cocktails, a live band, and dancing for 2+ hours!
JP was in heaven haha and I was too! I still can't believe that guy has turned me into someone who enjoys dancing!

So, here's a million pictures from the night, enjoy!

 ^^^ Bridesmaids!

^^^ We threw birdseed as they left which I LOVED! Such a fun unique idea, and it looked so cool!

Sorry for the absence... Here's a post about my favorite thing to do in the Fall!

It's State Fair time again!!!
It was a hilarious night full of fair animals (I love them), deep-fried food, rides that might fall apart at any moment, and really really great people watching. It was awesome. And highly entertaining.
We went with our friends eric+kimmi and beth+strater and made them all go on GRAVITRON! Remember it from last year?? haha

 Kimmi, me, and Beth!

I dubbed myself official photographer of this bridal shower:

This week I went to a bridal shower for a fabulous friend of mine!
Alex is marrying David: he's a frenchman who grew up in Spain and currently lives in Dubai (dead serious).
So that means that after her wedding tomorrow (eek! so excited!) she is moving to Dubai! Forever! Actually not quite forever, but for 3-5 years sooo pretty much forever.

And it's not like she's just in another state. She across the ocean in DUBAI.

So, needless to say, this bridal shower was the best thing ever because it was probably one of the last times for a long while that we will be able to sit and chat about anything and everything for 4+ hours
sorry JP, I still feel bad about waking you up when I finally made it home ;)

It was hilarious and cute and slightly-scandalous and even a little tear-jerking, which really makes for a successful bridal shower in my book.

Love you Al! Good luck tomorrow!

^^^ there was a slight mishap when the lights came crashing down on top of beth. It was seriously funny.

^^^ Alex is in the middle!

^^^ WHY do we try to do these pictures?
You should see all the ones before and after this of her basically being dropped.
Sorry Alex... ;)

^^^ some intense concentration had to happen when it came to decorating bum-shaped cookies

^^^ DON'T even ask which one was mine. hahaha I'm not very artistic soo I botched the lingerie lace I was attempting to create out of frosting and went with a holiday-themed pair of undies.

^^^ cute cute CUTE! David came at the end so we could all interrogate meet him!
